Cross-country skiing
Cross-country skiing heaven lies in the heart of the VEDRETTE DI RIES-AURINA Natural Park. In the same way as the world’s biathlon champions, you can work out around the shores of Lake Anterselva if you’re a professional or simply enjoy the view and the sunshine if you’re just an amateur. The run that crosses the valley can be travelled by anyone in the family on cross-country skis.

Downhill skiing, snowboarding, trips on snowshoes, sled rides, even a tour in a horse-drawn carriage.

Families with children and beginners will love the Riepen ski-lift near the village. Once an hour, the ski-bus leaves for the big PLAN DE CORONES circuit, a true paradise for anyone who loves the snow. Even those in search of just peace and quiet will find all the relaxation they want in Valle di Anterselva, as well as anything else the heart may long for!

Ski touring and trips over the glaciers
The VEDRETTE DI RIES-AURINA Natural Park hosts some very challenging peaks: on a 4-5 hour hike, mountain experts can reach the summits of Monte Nevoso (3303), Monte Magro (3273), and other famous mountains. The ski mountaineering tour known as «Hoch Tirol» begins from Casere in Val Aurina and goes over the border past a majestic series of peaks and glaciers in the Venediger Group to the Grossglockner in Austria and Kals in the Eastern Tyrol. Although this 6-day journey requires excellent physical preparation, it rewards you day after day with a peak over 3,000 meters high.
